Manager Software Quality Assurance


The Software Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for all testing. This includes providing test cases, QA plan, as well as for coordinating the efforts of SQA team members with the Project Manager and Developers in order to deliver high-quality projects according to plan and initiatives through the established SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participating in requirements de-briefing and requirements gathering and formation of the SRS.
  • Ensuring the User Interface provided is complete and consistent with the application.
  • Update components according to new improvements.
  • Develop test cases for new improvements.
  • Calculate testing effort LOE for improvements.
  • Keeping track of all test cases for their application.
  • Perform hands-on testing for 50% of their time.
  • Have complete functional knowledge of all current and in-development applications.
  • Advises and helps SQA Manager in all matters.
  • Oversight/mentoring/governance of a team of QA Engineers testing the applications.
  • Make recommendations, accept direction, monitor and motivate QA Team to excellence.
  • Adhere to SQA Methodology document in planning and executing the testing cycles.
  • Responsible for effectiveness of SQA Team’s testing results and defect-finding efficiency according to the SQA Methodology document.
  • Provide suggestions for improvement of QA efficiency.
  • Identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
  • Lead the automation for the application.
  • Attend all appropriate design meetings with development DEs to give (recommend quality improvements, testability issues) and receive/disseminate (inform QA Team and QA Manager) test and project information.
  • Interface with other department DEs to identify and resolve issues and conflicts.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise QA Team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Provide feedback about the QA team to the Manager.

Educational Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BCS/BE) in an IT field
  • QA Certification (preferred)

Experience Requirement

  • 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • 4+ years of experience in leading QA teams.

Required Skill Set

  • Individual with a leadership talent, who naturally looks for flaws, and is driven to suggest improvements.
  • Have good knowledge of automated testing.
  • Excellent team-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with a track record of demonstrating initiative.
  • Must have a good understanding of the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Should be familiar with SQL.
