Product Owner

Job Summary

The Product Owner to serve as the bridge between the product strategy and the development team. This role owns the product backlog, defines user stories, and ensures the team delivers high-value features that align with the product vision. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical understanding and an Agile mindset who is detail-oriented and execution-driven.

Key Responsibilities

Backlog Management and Prioritization

  • Define, refine, and prioritize the product backlog based on business goals and customer needs.
  • Write clear and concise user stories, including acceptance criteria, ensuring the development team has all necessary details.
  • Maintain a balance between technical debt, feature enhancements, and customer requests.

Collaboration with Development Team

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Product Manager and the development team, translating high-level requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Clarify and resolve questions from the team during the development process.
  • Make real-time decisions about scope changes or trade-offs to keep the project on track.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Product Managers to ensure the backlog reflects the overall product vision and priorities.
  • Gather input from stakeholders, including customers, sales, and customer success teams, to inform backlog priorities.
  • Communicate sprint progress, risks, and deliverables to stakeholders.

Delivery and Iteration

  • Ensure the team delivers high-quality, incremental value with each sprint.
  • Validate completed features against acceptance criteria and approve for release.
  • Gather feedback post-release to identify areas for improvement and iteration.

Technical Understanding

  • Partner with developers to understand technical constraints and opportunities.
  • Balance technical feasibility with business value during planning and development.

All other related duties assigned by the manager.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile management platforms.
  • Understanding of software development processes and technologies.

Education

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification is a plus.
